In the summer of 2001, we were sitting around a picnic table thinking of a name to call our new cover band. We wanted to find a way to incorporate the crowd into each show and somehow make them feel like they are a participant and not just a spectator. Our friend Rick mentioned that he visited a club while vacationing in Seattle, where all of the patrons were handed out all kinds of goofy hats to wear. He said it made everyone in the club feel approachable and everyone was having a lot of fun with it. We decided to use that same gimmick for the band and thus Mad Hatter was formed in July of 2001. Another thing we decided on was to play a wide variety of rock music that people would enjoy and want to dance to. Our song list includes a few oldies from the 60’s, classic rock from the 70’s & 80’s and new rock from the 90’s and today. We feel that we have put together a nice rounded song list that people can enjoy and dance to. Currently we are a four piece band featuring Randy Alan on vocals, Tom Allen on guitar, Ron Boyd on bass and Mike Avina on drums. We are all experienced musicians having played with various bands in the past. We employ our own sound engineer and we are capable of providing sound from small to large venues. We are also capable of playing outdoor venues as we have played the Bryan, OH City Fest in the past. We are capable of traveling to anywhere in the tri-state area.
